Shock Drops
Shock is a life-threatening medical condition whereby the body suffers from insufficient blood flow throughout the body, hence reduced oxygen and nutrients to the tissues. Shock often accompanies severe injury or illness. It can lead to other conditions such as lack of oxygen in the body's tissues (hypoxia), organ damage, syncope (temporary reduction in blood flow and therefore a shortage of oxygen to the brain causing vertigo).
Composition
Acidum phosphoricum 6x, Ammonium carbonicum 4x, Carbo vegetabilis 8x, Tabacum 4x, Veratrum album 4x.
Indications
Helps relieve acute or chronic circulatory disturbances like syncope, presenting with Vertigo, nausea, cold sweat, fainting, Palpitation, anxiety & shortness of breath.
Dosage
In chronic circulatory disturbances give 10-15 drops in water 3 times daily before meals. In acute circulatory shock repeat 1 hourly to 2 depending upon severity. Once improvement commences repeat the dosage less frequently or as prescribed by the physician.

Action of Ingredients
- Acidum phos.- The common acid "debility" is very marked in this remedy, producing a nervous exhaustion. Mental debility first; later physical.
- Ammonium carb.- Pain at pit of stomach with Heartburn, nausea. Much oppression in breathing; Slow labored, stertorous breathing. Parts lain on become numb. Hands cold and blue, distended veins.
- Carbo veg.- Blood seems to stagnate in the capillaries, causing blueness, coldness and ecchymosis. Body becomes blue, icy cold. The patient may be almost lifeless, but the head is hot; coldness, breath cool, pulse imperceptible, oppressed and quickened respiration and must have air, must be fanned hard, must have all the windows open. The patient faints easily, is worn out and must have fresh air. Haemorrhage from any mucous surface. Very debilitated. Patient seems to be too weak to hold out.
- Tabacum- The nausea, giddiness, death-like pallor, vomiting, icy coldness, and sweat with the intermittent pulse, are all most characteristic. Complete prostration of the entire muscular system. Collapse. Vertigo on opening eyes; sick headache with deathly nausea. Pulse intermits, feeble, imperceptible.
- Veratrum alb.- A perfect picture of collapse, with extreme coldness, blueness and weakness. Post-operative shock with cold sweat on forehead, pale face, rapid, feeble pulse. Cold perspiration on the forehead with nearly all complaints.Surgical shock.
Advice
- For weakness there after take Bakson Alfalfa Tonic or Pentaphos Tablets.
- In acute myocardial infarction give without delay the following two remedies: B66, B5.
- Alternate the 2 remedies every 5-10 minutes to begin with depending on severity of case. There after slowly increase the intervals between administration of the alternating remedies to ½ to 2 hourly.
- As patient improves and there is no further shock give B4 and alternate with B5 in order to prevent permanent damage to the myocardium. In circulatory disturbences during menopause give B7.
- In hypotonic cases alternate B66 with B50.
