Pleurisy Drops
Pleurisy is frequently associated with the accumulation of extra fluid in the space between the two layers of pleura enveloping the lungs. When this tissue becomes inflamed, it results in a sharp pain in the chest that is worse with breathing. Other symptoms of pleurisy may include cough, chest tenderness and shortness of breath.
Composition
Cimicifuga racemosa 3x, Colocynthis 3x, Kalium carbonicum 8x, Natrum Sulphuricum 8x, Ranunculus bulbosus 3x.
Indications
Helps relieve pain in intercostal space with associated symptoms of suffocation, cough and difficult breathing in affections of Lungs and Pleurae.
Dosage
10 drops in some water, 3 times daily. During an acute attack of cough and chest pain take 10-15 drops in some water 4-6 times a day. On improvement revert to normal dosage and continue the treatment until confirmed complete recovery or as prescribed by the physician.

Action of Ingredients
- Cimicifuga racemosa - Dry, short cough, worse speaking and at night. Cough when secretion is scanty-spasmodic, dry with muscular soreness and nervous irritation.
- Colocynthis - Influnces the nervous system, with its effectiveness in Pleurisy.
- Kali carbonicum - Sensitive to every atmospheric change, and intolerance of cold weather. Cutting pain in chest; worse lying on right side. Dry, hard cough about 3 am, with stitching pains and dryness of pharynx. Aggravated right lower chest and lying on painful side.
- Natrum sulphuricum - Must hold chest when coughing. Springs up in bed the cough hurts so; holds painful side. Pain through lower left chest.
- Ranunculus bulbosus - Its most characteristic effects are upon the chest walls, like Pleurodynia. Various kinds of pains and soreness, as if bruised in sternum, ribs, intercostal spaces and both hypochondria. Inter-costal Rheumatism. Stitches in chest, between shoulder-blades; worse, inspiring, moving. Rheumatic pain in chest, as from subcutaneous ulceration.
Advice: Complementary Remedies
- If preceded by Influenza: Additionally B1, 2-3 times daily.
- If preceded by Quinsy: Additionally B6, 10-15 drops once or twice a day.
